Emergency Bus Operations

Corvallis Transit System (CTS) and the Philomath Connection (PC) are a part of the Benton County Emergency Operations Plan. If an emergency such as an earthquake or flood occurs in our area, regular bus service may be suspended so that our buses can be used to assist with the emergency, as needed. CTS and PC buses may be used to evacuate people from dangerous areas, relocate the wounded, or transport emergency workers and supplies into the area. Obviously in a declared emergency these needs must take precedence over operating regular bus routes.

Also, bus service may be impacted by such an emergency if city roads become impassable.

Bus riders should plan for alternative transportation options in the event of an emergency. For more information on emergency preparation planning or the Benton County Emergency Operations Plan, see the Benton County web site.

Should an emergency occur, riders should check this web site or listen to local radio or television stations for updates on CTS and PC service.
